When you're a fitness blogger, it is very common to be invited to a number of fitness events, classes and gyms on a daily basis, but it’s not every day that a blogger becomes and remains a member of a specific gym. As such, we would like to individually highlight our athletes, who are also bloggers, and thank them for their support.
We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Meaghan Stakelin to learn more about her blog and her love of fitness.
What is the name of your blog?
What is the significance behind your blog’s name?
DC Fit Crasher follows my adventures crashing every fitness class in the District. Think of it like party crashing, but with more calorie burn and less awkward small talk.
Why did you decide to start blogging?
DC has so many incredible fitness options, but trying something new can be intimidating. So I decided to try them all myself and take the guesswork out of it for my readers. Now they have no excuse not to get out there and sweat!
What is your biggest athletic/ fitness achievement?
Qualifying for the Boston Marathon [how awesome is Meaghan!? That's incredible!]
What are you currently training for?
Life! My focus is to stay healthy and active, so I can keep fit crashing until I'm old and grey.
What is your favorite workout gadget and/or app?
Interval training timing app
What made you decide to become an UAC/ Roam athlete?
I appreciate the small-group training environment and the opportunity to regularly incorporate weight training into my fitness program with the Pro-Fuse classes.
What is one thing that your blog readers don't know about you?
I'm a bluegrass music fan and have been known to include bluegrass on my workout mixes.
